My blockchain finance professor, Gary Gensler, likes to use the duck test in his lectures. In his context, though, he’s usually trying to reason why cryptocurrencies should be regulated like securities — don’t worry, if you don’t know what that means, it’s okay, that’s not what this article is about. What’s most relevant is the idea of the duck test; here’s what it says:
