In terms of beer, spirits and wine consumption, are some countries more similar than others?

I used a dataset from WHO containing annual alcohol consumption, applied hierarchical clustering to it, and cut the tree into 6 clusters. The results are interesting.
Countries that are geographically close has similar drinking habit, like we can see Russia, Belarus, Slovakia in one cluster, Switzerland and Luxembourg in one cluster, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria in one cluster. Countries that are potentially culturally similar are close together too, like Papua New Guinea and Micronesia.
